one piece men react to you screaming their full name
Tumblr media
ft. Ace, Zoro, Sanji
SFW, mentions of alcohol and smoking, gn reader

𖤐⭒๋࣭ ⭑ .ᐟ ᡣ𐭩
Ace
“PORTGAS D. ACE” your voice resonates through all the walls, rooms and every nook and cranny from the Moby Dick. The mentioned stood frozen at the dinner table fork still full of food, he knew better than to run away
“What did you do now?” Marco asked eyes wide open
“Nothing!… that I remember” Ace scratched the back of his head trying to make memory of his recent activities, searching for whatever may had upset you
Marco laughed in disbelief “You’re a dead man” he said before taking another sip of his drink
You entered the room, stomping your way to your clueless boyfriend “May I have a word with you?” The tone and the politeness of the sentence made Marco fear for his dear friend. Ace nodded before he stood up and followed behind smile beaming in hopes you’ll have some mercy. A chorus of teasing ‘UUUUH’s were heard as you exited the dining room.
“Have I told you how radiant you look today?” Ace leaned over to kiss your cheek but you ducked making him loose his balance
“Don’t start with me Portgas” a shiver ran down Ace’s back, both from fear and… something else.
“You did this” you held a pillow cover in front of his face “You burned my only bed sheets, and you’re getting me new ones even if you end up in debt with everyone on this ship”
Ace was attracted to you all the time, but there was something in the way you would always stand your ground and how gorgeous you looked right now that was knocking him out of his feet. He placed his hand in the one were you held the pillow cover and pulled you in for a hug
“Im sorry sweetheart I’d get you new ones on the next island, you can borrow mine for now” you rolled your eyes and sighed, he got you wrapped all around his finger and he knew it, you couldn’t be mad at him for long
“Of course I’m taking yours, you sleep at my bed every night anyways… but wash them first” Ace picked you up and pampered your face with kisses “You look so hot when you’re angry
Zoro
“RORONOA ZORO” you screamed while exiting to the deck where he was working out, all of the straw hats looked back at Zoro in fear, Sanji holding in a laugh
Few things made this man flinch but he couldn’t help but catch himself lose balance when he heard his full name exit your lips in such an angry tone followed by your big stumps getting louder as you got closer
Everyone wrapped up whatever they were doing and ran off to the kitchen, leaving Zoro to face his demise alone
“What now?” He played it off trying to sound as nonchalant as he could not even looking your direction
“How many times have I asked you to not leave your sake around my desk?” If looks could kill your boyfriend would be a dead man
“Where am I supposed to put it then?” He scoffed crossing his arms in front of his chest, he looked at you for a second and his heart clenched at the cute way your brows furrowed and your arms rested on your hips
“Oh! I don’t know maybe, just getting silly here, IN THE PANTRY WHERE IT BELONGS!” Zoros condecency was driving you insane making your tone scale
The swordsman noticed how you were getting tense and teardrops threaten to run down your cheeks, he sighed a little embarrassed he had made you this upset. He cupped your cheeks while he apologized in that soft tone he reserved just for you
“I’m sorry I forgot to put it away last night, it won’t happen again I promise” he drew comforting circles around your cheek as he whispered
“It got all over my notebooks” oh so that’s why you were so shaken up
“I’ll clean it up baby” your boyfriend kissed your forehead as he made his way to the kitchen for a towel, as he opened the door every crew member fell comically on top of each other, they were ears dropping as they do.
Before Zoro could complain, your sweet laugh was heard at the distance which made him smile a little “You should listen to her mosshead” Sanji muttered which made the swordsman’s smile drop and scream back at him
Sanji
“BLACK LEG SANJI” even though you were screaming at him, the cook couldn’t help but feel his heart flutter at the way you wouldn’t use his birth last name as you knew he despised it and what it stand for, instead raging while using his public name.
You stormed in the kitchen eyes fixed on him, even angry Sanji thought you were breathtaking
“Yes my world?” he beamed a smile at you which you didn’t know if it annoyed or charmed you
“What have I said about smoking indoors?” Sanji felt the air get stuck in his throat, his eyes drifted from yours in shame
“I uhm-“ he laughed nervously as you got closer and closer cornering him against the counter, both hands caging him while they rested on said counter
“You know damn well I hate when my clothes smell like cigarettes, now imagine how I feel when my whole room stinks” you grabbed Sanjis tie to move his face closer to yours without breaking eye contact, you knew exactly what to do to make him a nervous wreck
The blondes heart couldn’t help but skip several beats at the way you were acting right now, he felt bad about upsetting you but he could get used to this side of you
“My apologies love, you know I cant manage to go without a smoke and sometimes I don’t want to leave your side” he twitched when his gaze met yours as he tried to explain himself
“Well you better start to manage” with a torturous slow move you took the cigarette that hanged from your boyfriends lips and threw it on the floor before stepping on it to take it out “Or I’ll move out of the room” you smiled teasingly while exploring his handsome features, stopping at his lips.
The cook turned all shades of red and pink breathing heavily, squirming a “Yes ma’m” before you kissed him passionately and breaking it abruptly
You winked at him before leaving the poor poor man absolutely stunted and a hot mess

i know that zoro looks at marco and feels indescribable.
because isn’t he just zoro’s worst nightmare, his worst case scenario, all his fears personified? the second in command, the right hand man, reduced to a living memory after his crew was killed repeatedly in front of his eyes. then in retaliation to his captain being mercilessly slaughtered, he waged a war on the murderer and he lost terribly. marco walked out of the payback war with less family than he walked in with and their fight of revenge became a scramble of retreat. marco who lost izou in wano as if the world would not allow him a second of respite from grief. marco who in present time has to sit with the knowledge that the scattered, remaining remnants and allies of the whitebeard pirates are being hunted for sport, and he can’t do anything about it. marco who never stops losing what he loves even when it's doubted that he could lose any more.
i know that zoro looks at marco and feels fear, genuine terror, at that fate. the strawhats are zoro’s world, his love for them is boundless. his love for his captain? nothing could hope to compare. zoro losing any one of his crew mates would irreversibly destroy him, and he looks at a man who has lost it all. thatch, oden, little oars jr, ace, whitebeard, izou; well: sanji, brook, franky, usopp, nami, luffy. does he feel pity? does he feel kindred? what does zoro think when he sees marco?
marco is so powerful; the whitebeard pirates were untouchable pinnacles of the pirate world. marco was the righthand man of the strongest man in the world for (over) thirty years, a man who stood shoulder to shoulder with gold roger himself. does zoro train harder knowing that or does it momentarily cause him to falter in worry about the futility of strength? marco the phoenix, first division commander of the whitebeard pirates, lives alone on a secluded island with the company of villagers and graves. he spent thirty years aboard the moby dick and it came crumbling in months. zoro must look at that, and think about how his world could slip through his fingers if he lowers his guard from threat for a moment. worry must claw at his throat as he struggles to find what to say; staring at the embodiment of strength, intelligence and kindness and who's fate is a quiet life he never asked for.
i know that zoro looks at marco and feels indescribable

content: comfort, fem. reader, sfw, established relationship, reader is sick and zoro is the sweetest boyfriend.
Tumblr media
you tried to stay still, tried to be as quiet as possible, but you couldn’t stop turning in bed. and then the tears came. all you wanted to do was rest, but your body was refusing to allow you to.
that was when zoro woke, and you cried a little more because you hadn’t meant to wake him so early too. he’d been on night watch, and was surely as tired as you.
“what’s wrong? are you okay?” zoro pulled you closer to him, hearing your sniffles.
“feel like shit.” you cried. you were shivering and sweating at the same time, your head was killing you, your throat felt sore, your nose was runny, and you couldn’t stop crying. and on top of it all you had to be up soon.
“you’re burning up,” zoro whispered, holding a hand to your cheek. “i’ll go get chopper.”
“don’t leave.”
“i’ll be quick.”
he pressed a kiss to your temple before leaving to find the doctor. you weren't sure how long he'd been gone and though you knew it couldn't have been long, it felt like an eternity to you. all you wanted to do was sleep. to rest and escape the pain you felt throughout your body.
instead, all you do was cry and turn and turn and turn in bed. when chopper came in to check on you, you could hardly focus on the words he spoke… but zoro — he clung to each syllable.
“a tea could help you sleep better. i’ll bring you down a remedy as soon as i can.”
“i’ll bring it,” zoro interrupted. “and i’ll ask sanji to make you a tea, too.”
his hand rested briefly on your forehead, gently brushing your hair to the side. “i’ll be right back.”
you muttered a faint, i love you and the swordsman returned the sentiment with a kiss to your temple before stepping out behind chopper. you hated the thought of chopper and sanji being disturbed at this hour for your sake. all because you’d gotten sick and couldn’t sleep. pathetic.
a fucking pirate and you still couldn’t take care of yourself. the sensible part of you could tell you that you were being ridiculous, that it was alright to depend on others sometimes, but it was hard to ignore the overwhelming voice in your head that was telling you you were being a burden, that chopper and sanji and zoro were losing sleep over you — and god, zoro deserved better.
he deserved a girlfriend who wasn’t so weak, one who wouldn’t cry from a little fever. he deserved someone who wasn’t going to spiral at 4am because he was sweet enough to bring her tea and medicine and take care of her.
“aight, sanji sent camel-somethin’ tea and a bowl of almonds and fruit, said it’d help you sleep better… and chopper told me to make sure ya take two spoons of this stuff,” zoro held up a bottle, his arms full as he pushed open the door. “how ya doin?”
“i love you and i don’t deserve you,” you whined.
“sanji said the same thing,” zoro said, ignoring your pout and setting everything down on the nightstand before helping you sit up. he pulled up a chair beside you for himself. “he went on about poor y/n and she deserves better than a big oaf taking care of her. he offered to come spoonfeed ya, actually, i could go get ‘im.”
“no, i think i’m all better now actually…” you smiled, not needing a mirror to know you looked like shit. “but if the big oaf feels like spoonfeeding me, i wouldn’t mind it.”
your boyfriend only rolled his eyes, reaching for the spoon and chopper’s bottle. “two spoons is all you’re getting. open wide, babe.”
you didn’t know if it was chopper’s medicine, sanji’s tea, or zoro’s hands rubbing circles into your skin, but it didn’t take long before you started to feel better and you were struggling to keep your eyes open. “baby, i think i can sleep okay now…”
zoro took the tea cup from your hands. “want me to sleep next to you?” he hummed, knowing there was something you were leaving unspoken.
“you’ll get sick.” you whispered.
“that’s not an answer.”
“please,” you smiled weakly, wanting nothing more than to rest your head against zoro’s chest and feel the weight of his arms around you.
you could feel the rise and fall of his chest and the warmth of his body against yours.
“it doesn’t matter if i get sick,” zoro said, his eyes closed and his fingers brushing through your hair. “i’ve got a beautiful, sweet girl to take care of me.
i don’t deserve her.”
─────────────────────────────
something about zoro putting aside his pride to wake sanji and ask him to make you tea. something about zoro knowing exactly what you need without you saying it. knowing how to comfort you without being too obvious about it. him taking care of you because he knows you’re more than he deserves (and he knows that you don’t think you’re enough) and because you take care of him the same way everyday. something about zoro.

Zoro, the Blasphemer
ZoSan Fic by @ismagulnitatay
TAGS: Smut, Body Worship, Praise Kink
TRIGGER & CONTENT WARNING: This piece contains themes that some readers may find disturbing and/or may not be suitable for younger audiences, including implications of sexual activities and use of religious figures. Reader discretion is advised. Lastly, this piece is inspired by Hozier's Take Me To Church. Listening to it may provide you a better reading experience.
SUMMARY: Zoro never worshipped a god—not if it's not Sanji.
Gods and deities are only a portion of the things Zoro considers fake and nonsensical. They are but an escape—an excuse people use whenever something goes either wrong or well.
Misfortunes? Blessings? Fate?
Why would one drag someone, or something, that only exists in people's mind? Something that only appeared because of whoever's idea one day after realizing, "Oh, maybe someone somewhere is bringing us all these things because we did a good thing?" or "I cannot believe these are all happening to me. Someone must be giving me a punishment for being a bad guy."
"I never once prayed to God." Zoro told his crewmate during the time they were up against a so-called god, who was never really a god to begin with.
With all his blasphemous remarks, the swordsman would most probably end up in hell if such figures really do exist. Would he care? No, not at all for he believes that people are responsible for things happening to them. He knows in himself that whether he wins or loses, it is because of his skills and power, not some figure up in the sky.
However, Zoro has a secret—something not known to anyone but one.
"You are mine. Your body, your soul... all of you belongs to me." The locks of the only being who deserves to be called god would dance in every shift of his head, the blond hues dyeing every strand of his hair dazzled before the gleaming illumination of mere candles. His voice is a temptation one would let themselves be allured into, and Zoro would not hesitate to be enticed.
If he will be thrown deep down in the hottest pits of hell after death, then he will gladly serve for the rite of worship befitting his god. The hands of the divine man are his guide, his blood is his wine, his lips are his bread, and his body is his temple. The only heaven he will be sent to was with him alone.
"Sanji..." The swordsman would call for the name of his one and only deity as he knelt before him, daring to let his sinful lips touch every inch of his god's porcelain skin to show his devotion—the veneration of the cook.
"Hold me in your arms, Zoro." Even with his flushed face, he looked perfect begging for his faithful swordsman. In every shift of the greenhead's force, the cook would ask for more. He needed more of Zoro's worshipping, and the latter would without a doubt provide him with what he asked. Like a dog following his master's order.
All the lies darted at each other in their every spat reveals its true intent during their sacred mass. The crow's nest serving as the shrine of their sacrosanct union—the church that takes them to the heaven they have always desired.
Even death would not kill Zoro's reverence for Sanji. He would even offer himself up for the cook: to protect and to serve him.
"Faster... more..."
If scars on the back are a swordsman's shame, the nails digging on the greenhead's back were honors he received from Sanji. With the flickering lights from the candles surrounding them, fire pooled low down their abdomen as they reached salvation—a salvation for offering themselves to each other and acknowledging the innocence of their sins.
Lips over lips, sweat over sweat, groans and moans, and a grotto for a pagan.
Zoro has a secret—something not known to anyone but Sanji. He is in fact a follower of god, the god he worships in the bedroom.
Perhaps fate was true after all.
A god who let himself be touched by a lowly sinner, and a sinner who brought down the god from above. Zoro is a blasphemer indeed, and in hell is where they will both create a new heaven.

sometimes you just sit down for 7 minutes because you're reading the one piece manga volume 4 where the crew is facing against klahadore and zoro is facing off against the meow brothers or whatever. taking hits aimed by usopp so that the enemy's attention, although overwhelming, is on him alone.
"this is no time to be worrying about others!" usopp yells.
at this point it still feels like a simple shonen manga with ridiculous and adrenaline filled situations rather than the slower, more serious and all consuming kind of grief depicted later on in the series, but rereading from the beginning really makes me think just from how early on zoro is Everything that happens to him later.
in sabaody, injured post thriller bark, he told usopp to leave him behind, so that the attention is focused on him alone. even if overwhelmed, even if facing an admiral and in face of death, he still took time to be worried about others.
i cant really understand how people try to make a case that zoro loyalty is to luffy alone, or blind, when he loves in a way that kills him. zoro spends so many arcs wounded, post wounded, protecting, and staying behind with the crew while luffy rushes forward to fight off the main enemy. and zoro's worried about luffy too - think about alabasta, on that crab.
he does eventually learn to believe in his crew's strength and capability of handling things on their own, he does tell chopper that crew is about taking individual risks and relying on others where you fall short. zoro just doesn't want to fall short in the first place.
i think a lot of it has to do with control. when zoro's directly engaged with the enemy, when he's the one being hit, he has control over his actions, he can suppress his own pain, he can do more than be an onlooker, or risk losing someone without being capable of doing anything (like he lost his family, or like he lost kuina, or how he was taken away from his crew by kuma). this longing for control, even if the path he chooses spells disastrous for himself.
he's such a kind person, and that kindness is wordless but its so, so loud in his actions. no matter how much i scoff at every single time he starts making remarks absolutely unprompted and picking fights with his family, i can't stop seeing these moments where zoro shrugs off the soft parts about him.
he carries nami in alabasta even though he complains, he pulls chopper along when it's too hot for him on the desert, he dives in after the devil fruit users in his crew to fish them out, he carries a man shot to the hospital on sabaody because that's the right thing to do, he says he doesn't trust robin and then lashes out against enel when he uses violence against her, he refuses to admit he's worried about sanji in water 7 in the same breath as he tells luffy to call sanji back because the enemies are dangerous, and in the very beginning, he scares off a little girl with food for him even though he's been starved for days because he doesn't want her to bear the consequences (and also the deal. but if it was the deal alone, he wouldn't have asked luffy to pick up the riceball from the mud and feed it to him and ask to tell rika that it's good).

Zolu in One Piece Video Games
I put 65+ hours into One Piece Odyssey, a game in which the Strawhats are robbed of their powers and must relive memories of key events/battles (Alabasta/Crocodile, Dressrosa/Doflamingo, etc.) to earn them back. Post timeskip/pre-WCI so no Jinbe on the crew.
Zolu are wild in it, so enjoy the highlights.
Their general nonsense:
When they reunite early in the game, Luffy/Zoro greet each other first/only despite the whole crew being there
Shared brain cell of agreeing that “Charging through a marine outpost sounds like fun”
Don't communicate with words in battle and somehow both know what to do in Alabasta when their memories 'change'
During a fight with Aokiji in Water 7, Luffy is frozen solid, and only Sanji and Zoro can bring him back to the Merry. Zoro flawlessly navigates through the entire city and even points out what directions they must go in, much to Sanji’s surprise.
AKA the only time Zoro knows directions is when Luffy needs him most
While Luffy is injured and a conflict with the marines starts, Zoro takes the lead because “my crew is frozen”
Towards the end of the level, Zoro has a unique reaction (no one else does individually) when Luffy can’t beat Lucci and is the only strawhat to realize the Lucci in their memories is stronger
Once Luffy wins, Zoro’s unique dialogue is, again, “Seriously, you almost scared me back there.”
When going to Marineford memories, Zoro is the only one to comfort/check in with Luffy, asking if he’s alright/ready to do this. Luffy responds ‘yeah’ - and in that section, Zoro is the only person Luffy speaks to
Clicking on other crewmates just has them speaking, not Luffy responding to them
Similarly, post-Marineford, Zoro is the one to respond to Luffy’s “I’m glad everyone’s okay” with a ‘yeah’, because they don’t need to talk about it further.
In multiple situations, Luffy and Zoro are the only ones to realize an enemy is tracking them or ”not right” and will check with the other about it- “Did you notice?/Yup, they’re getting closer”
Since they’re usually placed together in cut scenes, Zoro is almost always the first crewmate ‘shown’ reacting to Luffy and often has minor, unique dialogue just for him
Zoro whines/demands to Luffy that he wants to fight in the coliseum in Dressrosa this time.
“I don’t want to, but if Luffy says so.”
At the game's ending, Zoro places himself in front of an injured Luffy to protect him (and had done that through the game)
“We’re more about the future than the past now, right Luffy?” “Right!” (their final lines are together).
Their unique ‘battle’/gameplay conversations are a riot:
They talk about killing specific monsters because they’re hungry
Zoro spots a swordsman and wants to fight them/Luffy cheers him on
Are very happy to keep fighting when the other ‘pushes’ an opponent into their area of battle (Nami is not!)
Zoro claims Luffy shouldn’t have to fight certain weak enemies and that he’s already about to beat them, even though Luffy complains he wants to fight too!
When they finish a battle, Zoro will sometimes reference the Baratie vow and that he’ll become a master swordsman, concludig with “Got a problem with that King of the Pirates?” as Luffy laughs and says "Nope!"
"You're in MY captain's way. Time to move it or lose it!"
Odyssey is focused on the whole crew and the island mystery they’re solving, but there was so much heart between everyone (Sanji saves Usopp, Robin affectionately calls Nami their reliable navigator). It was very obvious how much these two rely on each other and that Zoro isn’t just the swordsman but the first mate

i absolutely adore your young sanji au!! If you don't mind, could you write more about him? Like, how did the other crews that know him react to his actual age? Or even some random interactions between the straw hats after finding out!
I'M TRYING TO BE ALIVE AGAIN I PROMISE I AM SO SORRY
Young!Sanji!!! Ahh, lovely boy, precious and soft and absolutely hating everyone find out how old he actually is. He feels no one takes him seriously after they find out. They always falter and stumble and it just...doesn't feel good to him?
I feel like Law finding out would full on make him trip and face plant into the ground because Robin probably mentions it off handedly but knowingly. She knows Sanji doesn't like Law calling him Stealth Black and this seems to be the quickest way for her to stop it. Sanji is walking ahead of them to a tea house somewhere while they're in Wano. Like she specifically phrases it in a way to show how cruel Judge is and when Law full stumbles it makes Sanji look and ask what's wrong. Law is stumbling up onto his feet and is confused and asks Sanji if he's really /seventeen/ and Sanji says he is with a shrug. Law knows he's not the youngest on the crew but understands because of his love of the Sora comics that they were closer to the truth than he had realized, even after the raid suit. Germa was far worse than he knew to even its own children. When they're sat and drinking tea, Law can't help but ask why he is physically not seventeen. Sanji just goes 'ahaha, that's Germa for you' and Law is reeling that the cook is also a child on the crew. Law doesn't really change how he acts with the cook though, he doesn't see his age, only his accomplishments which are numerable even if he was twenty one, he just admires the guy more now.
Sanji is not pleased at how people keep trying to baby him after finding out how old he is and how his family is, the rescue team is especially bad. Chopper keeps asking for more and more check ups on him and Sanji is trying to just deal with it, Zoro seems to be holding back during their spars when he doesn't have to be, when they're out at a bar he keeps stealing Sanji's drinks even though he's not even buzzed yet and Zoro hates wine. Zoro, for the life of him he doesn't want to view the cook differently, but finding out about the experiments and how young Sanji was when he went through everything that led him to Zeff makes him softer. He fucking hates it but he feels like he needs to give the cook an actual chance at being a child that was denied to him. Even if he didn't get a chance he and the other kids at the dojo did play as well as train, especially when they were younger, before he left and he plays with Luffy and Chopper all the time. So when he assists Robin and Nami with the cook and making the guy take breaks. He's started doing the dishes fully on his own and shoving the cook out of the kitchen after meals.
I feel like when Zeff found out his kid wasn't ten, his kid is six and looks ten. Zeff frowns deeply at the boy who acts like a ten year old in a lot of ways, most ways, a fucked up and traumatized one albeit, but he's still ten. Except he's not and Sanji's age really shows when people flirt or try to take him to their ships for activities more fitting for an adult or teenager. Except he's not one of those, he's twelve when someone first propositions him and Zeff loses it at the customer and talks to Sanji about what they're doing, what people want from him and that he gets to decide if he wants to or not. Because Sanji is physically four years older than he actually is and Zeff wants to kill the fucking bastard that did this to the kid. Zeff knows his kid is younger than he looks but he treats the boy like how he holds himself, he's smart, impulsive, thinks he owes his life to Zeff when he doesn't. Goddammit Zeff wants him to act like a damn kid but the kid doesn't want to! Kid feels like he can't because the kid needs to be useful so on the rare nights the Baratie is closed Zeff and the others will take the kid out to the upper deck or the top of the restaurant and teach him the constellations and if the kid falls asleep it's all the better.
The kid will never act his real age, but he has people to make sure he's taken care of. That's more than enough for Sanji.

"Zoro would betray the crew" "Zoro would kill anyone in the crew if Luffy asked him to do so" And if I fucking kill YOU then what?
HE MOST CERTAINLY WOULD NOT ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN WATCHING??!
How HOW can you watch this anime or read the manga and still believe Zoro could be evil and have a scheming plan all along to betray them?
Tumblr media
He would take one look (ONE) at Choppers little shiny eyes and crumble completely if he ever were to betray them (HE WON'T, STOP THIS MADNESS AND DON'T PISS ME OFF)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is literally DREAMING of impressing Chopper. He loves that little guy. He would never in a million years hurt him like that.
He took all of Luffy's pain for himself, and when Sanji offered to do so himself and be the sacrifice instead, what did Zoro do? knock him out. To take the burden himself.
He promises Luffy he would never lose again until achieving his dream, while acknowledging and treating Luffy's own dream as a reality. To him, the sky is blue and Luffy is, or will inevitably be, the king of the pirates. (without even knowing what Luffy's dream actually implies)
He bows his head to the same man he vowed to defeat for the sake of his captain and his crew (lets remember for a second that the reason he and everyone in the crew trained was NOT to achieve their own dreams, but to see their captain achieve his and be there to witness it).
He offered Kaido to smash his head instead of Luffy's when he knew he was not strong enough to defeat him just to buy Luffy some time.
AND LOOK AT HOW HAPPY HE IS TO SEE LUFFY AFTER, IDK, A WEEK WITHOUT SEEING EACHOTHER! how can you look at that expression and think "yeah he is a traitor and he secretly hates him and his crew so much" HUHH???
He looks at Luffy, a small brained stupid little lovable stretchy guy, with admiration. Look at that face. He would never wish REAL harm upon any of them. He wants to cut Sanji on the daily, but that doesn't really count.
He was ready to cut his feet off for their sake, and he was halfway there too! and he is always looking out for them. And just like these few examples, there's many more. So, yes, I refuse to ever engage the thought of Zoro being a traitor.
Besides, I do not believe Zoro is smart enough to pull something like that. That man is not that intelligent. "He could be deceiving us" huh? US? the readers and audience who know his every move, phrase and thought? really now?
Also, LUFFY WOULD NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS ASK ZORO TO DO SUCH A THING?? He picked his crew himself. He cherishes his crew like the treasures they are. He would die for them in a heartbeat. He is literally alive right now thanks to them (he would have lost himself after THAT otherwise). Every time a crew member "betrays him" he doesn't believe shit. He doesn't care as long as they come back to him unharmed. He wants his friends to be free, be happy, have adventures, achieve all of their dreams and eat to their hearts content.
He would rather eat every cherry pie in existence than have any of his crew members in pain, yet you believe he would go around just asking people to kill them?? you need psychological help if that's the case.
Now, anyone who genuinely believes that Zoro would ever do something like that, please don't even continue on watching the show or reading the manga, you CLEARLY are not paying attention and you are not enjoying shit.
I ask you to stop polluting this beautiful series and friendship with your nonsense.

(Modern AU, the Strawhats with a car) You are Harlord and you're driving your wife Linda and your two kids down to Florida to go to Disney world. You start to hear the faint hum of music coming up on the lane behind you. The car is next to your for long enough for you to see the driver being lightly....STRANGLED?! By a young woman in the passenger seat and you don't even have time to be alarmed bc he had just tried to do a U turn in front of you and she's stopped him. You can hear music bc the windows are down and there's a skeleton playing the violin and singing a sea shanty while a tiny reindeer asks a woman with too many arms for "five more minutes" on his IPad. You smell cigarette smoke. A man is sitting crosslegged on the roof. Smoking. As the car hurtles down the highway at 70 mph. And as they zoom by, the last thing you hear is loud laughter as a teenager crawls his way out of the window with too-long limbs and splays himself out on the grill of the car.

Zoro "I don't know what bullshit you got on your mind but I guess I'll have to do the most dramatic shit ever to knock it out before it starts festering inside your chest" Roronoa.
I'm not even exaggerating!!
"Hm, Luffy shouldn't be worried like that over me so what if I swear to never lose a fight again so he doesn't have to worry about me and I don't have to see him like that".
"These bitches keep insisting Nami is a traitor and she looks like she's way deep in playing her role so I'll throw myself to the ocean to prove to her she's such a good person she is incapable to let me die she belongs with us I know that she knows it".
"Ussop sounds like he's not taking the crew and the pirate dream seriously so either he gets his shit together or I'm stopping this shipwreck right now this is not how he'll reach his goal he needs to put himself together now."
"Who the fuck knows why Sanji sounds like he's drowning in his own head asking me to fucking kill him but there's no way I'm letting whatever he is thinking happen so I'll make him promise he'll wait for me to arrive there and then I can deal with it".
It's like that with every member of the crew. Zoro believes in them so blindly that it makes him get strict as their first mate. He won't let their dreams die, he won't let them die, he won't let them live in a lie either.
And the best part?
Zoro is constantly implying that he's gonna live for them.
Luffy don't worry, I won't lose again. I won't die. You're the Pirate King and I'm your first mate, the best swordman in the world. There's no doubt.
Whatever Nami is doing I'll figure it out with my crew and we're pulling her out of here or fixing it, so we can get to sail again. She's our navigator.
If Ussop keeps this going I'll fight him myself. I do not plan to be a pirate only in appearance. That is not our future, not our identity.
Sanji, I'm getting out of this fight alive even if I have to go to hell and come back and so are you, so you better not die before I reach you.

I think the one thing that everyone forgets regarding Sanji's potential mutation is that while it does take his emotions away, that doesn't automatically make him aggressive and hostile to the Straw Hats. From what we observed with his brothers, who, mind you, were raised as spoiled brats who could get away with beating the shit out of anyone weaker and were in fact encouraged in doing so, they're apathetic and unable to disobey commands from their father, but still have a semblance of free will and differing personalities. Whether that's because of later programming Sanji didn't get, or at the base of the mutation, is unclear.
Having no emotions doesn't necessarily mean someone is cruel, it depends entirely on how they were raised, and Sanji was raised to be a kind gentleman who always feeds the hungry no matter what. It'd be weird for him to lose his emotions and then have a complete personality shift. Sure, he'll lose the parts of him that were dependent on those emotions, but everything else? That'll stay. He'll still cook, because that's what he's been taught and trained in for eleven years, but he probably won't be bringing Nami and Robin specialized drinks and snacks anymore. His cooking will lose some of the love and care he always put into it, but he'll still make sure every meal is catered to everyone's dietary needs, but maybe he won't take their likes and dislikes into account anymore.
And if we go with the idea that the whole "can't disobey commands from their father" thing translates to "can't disobey orders from his captain", then he'll probably still fight, but only when Luffy tells him to. And he won't be merciful anymore. He'll disregard his whole thing of never fighting a woman, and he won't be careful not to kill his opponent outright anymore. And he probably won't drop everything to defend his crew. Not unless Luffy tells him to.
And honestly? That is so, so much worse than him just outright attacking his crew. Because they're gonna watch this, they're gonna see this shell that used to be Sanji walking around and saying and doing things he'd never do, not in a million years, and not even if he was held at gunpoint. And it'll hurt, because they can still see the echoes of Sanji in this shell that wears his face, but everything he says and does is wrong. He still smokes, he still cooks, and he still fights, but he doesn't hold himself the same way. Where before, he used to have a casual air around him and a slight slouch, he's now rigid and stiff, holding himself tall. Where before, he fought Zoro with banter and a mutual respect for each other and an unspoken agreement to never maim, now he doesn't say anything. Now, he doesn't bother holding back, doesn't care if he truly hurts Zoro or not.
Where before, his eyes were warm and full of love and care for his crew, they're now empty and disinterested, only lingering on his nakama for as long as necessary before looking away. Where before, his food tasted heavenly and divine and full of love as he experimented and carefully designed each meal to please his nakama, now it's just... bland. It's still better than anything they'll get anywhere else, of course, but it's... lacking. It doesn't have any love poured into it. Not even a drop. The recipes are followed exactly, and no new ones are created.
And the worst part is that there isn't even any hate or malice behind any of this, just an emptiness that makes their hearts ache with loss. Because Sanji's still alive, he's still there and cooking for them, but it's not Sanji. He's right there, but he's so far beyond their reach that it doesn't matter. Sanji's not dead, but they've lost him all the same.
That's probably why Sanji asked Zoro to kill him if the mutation ever took his emotions. Because Sanji would rather die than treat his nakama like that.

I've been sitting on this quote BUT I FIGURED IT OUT NOW!!! (Warning this might be a bit dumb)
Established relationship, Zoro and Sanji had been dating and they truly love each other. But then Sanji gets "corrupt" and loses his emotions. Zoro tries to follow up on his promises to stop him, but ultimately he can't, because he knew that under all of that numbness, it was still Sanji. And he loved him. So he opted for just capturing him and bringing him back to the rest of the stawhats.
They kept him like they did Caesar, cuffed and under the threat of his heart, even though he had never acted so heartless. The closest to emotions he experienced was being pissed off about his predicament and what looked like lust for Nami (like his brothers did the first time they saw her). It hurt them all seeing him like this, but mostly Zoro because the man he wanted to spend the rest of his life, had been melted down to this pathetic mutt-of-a-man.
They travelled with him for a couple of months, Zoro losing hope more and more.
Finally, he got over himself and decided to have a talk with Sanji. He started asking if he remembered various things, to which the answer was always "no", so he started retelling things. How he met and joined Luffy's crew. About Vivi and Arabasta. About thriller bark. About their first kiss... The blank stare behind those eyes was too discouraging. So he gave up. He sighed, ready to leave, but then Sanji grabbed his wrist as he was about to leave. Zoro looked back and Sanji's expression was almost... human. He furrowed his brows, looking confused. "Zoro?" he said - voice shaky.
Zoro felt his heart leap with joy. Had Sanji healed?
Sanji told him it was so hard for him to feel anything when his heart was detached from his body but... Zoro could help. Right? And so he did. Zoro was the one who held it. Once he slipped it in, Sanji broke his cuffs and attacked him. It was an act to get it back and kill them.
The fight escalated, throwing each other through walls and floors. Eventually, they broke through Nami's office and she exclaimed at the sight. Sanji was holding Zoro - half dead and unarmed. Sanji got distracted by her screaming and he even looked sorry. He was remorseful for scaring the lady. She ran to get Luffy because she thought it would have been the best solution.
Something in Zoro's brain clicked.
"I thought that you were too screwed up to love anyone. I was wrong. You just couldn't love me. That's good. I'm happy for you."
Sanji was sedated eventually, but it was too late. They were already two crewmates down. One lost his mind, his soul. The other his love and life.

@lunaticus asked me to explain more about the relationship Sanji has with selflessness and why he thinks about self-sacrifice as a form of love and affection (thanks to Zeff, but that comes later). So I think it deserves its very own post!
So we all know Sanji has this thing for self-sacrifice (seen in Skypiea. Seen in Thriller Bark. Seen in WCI. Seen in Wano. Seen all the damn time because he always does this) and I think his parental figures play a big role in this (I mean Sora and Zeff, not Judge. Fuck you, Judge). Sanji uses self-sacrifice as a form of affection but also because he doesn't see his life as something valuable (now this is Judge's doing. Fuck you, Judge x2). Sanji's love language comes directly from both Sora and Zeff, and tbh I think Reiju too:
The first time he has any sort of connection to kindness and love is his mom. Sora literally sacrifices herself so Judge can't keep modifying her kids. She died for her kids. She died for Sanji. And she kept smiling and taking care of her little angel nevertheless because Sanji was her only joy. She ate stuff that was probably awful just because it made Sanji happy. It made him follow his dream. And he knew the food was bad but his mom ate it anyway, and that only made him want to keep working until his mom had a real, awesome meal. So Sora sacrifices her own life and her taste buds (RIP Sora's sense of taste) to make Sanji happy.
Then Reiju. It's not as obvious as the other two and it's not really self-sacrifice, but she does stay with an abusive family even though she could've tried to run away with Sanji. She saves him. Tells him to find better, kinder people out there. And she stays in hell because she sees herself as part of the family even if she isn't like them. The way Sanji speaks to her in WCI just makes it more obvious that even if she didn't sacrifice herself exactly (she doesn't see it as a sacrifice) she still has the same thinking as Sanji of: I deserve to be here. I belong here. But I'm gonna help Sanji run away because he doesn't deserve this. While Sanji thinks literally the same when it comes to leaving the crew behind.
And then, Zeff, who I think is the most influential one here. He cuts his own fucking leg to protect Sanji. For Sanji, a kid he barely knows, to survive. That obviously changes Sanji's life forever and he starts owing his life to Zeff (not owing, but, you know. He does at first and then it's more like the way a son feels about his dad giving up everything for him. It's just the way dads are, right?). It's the most selfless and self-sacrificing thing Sanji has ever witnessed. And it was to save him.
So of course, after all of this happens, Sanji sees self-sacrifice as a love language. The most important people in his life did this because they loved him. Of course he's gonna protect Usopp and Nami from Enel even if it means dying electrocuted. Of course he's gonna offer himself to feel Luffy's pain instead of letting Zoro do it. Of course he's gonna quit his new family to protect them from his bloodline. Of course he's gonna use the suit that makes him want to throw up to fight for Wano and of course he's gonna take his life so lightly, asking Zoro to kill him if he loses himself.
The main difference between these situations and what Sora/Zeff did, is that Sanji genuinely doesn't care about what happens to him. He doesn't see his own value and he doesn't care about dying as long as he gets to protect others. Because that's just the way love is for him. And we don't only see it in these dramatic moments, but in the way he treats people. In the way he cooks (such a selfless passion, wanting to serve others). And in the way he flirts with women (it looks exhausting, the way he's trying his best all the time to make them feel worshipped).
So, yeah, Sanji is selfless to an unhealthy extent because he sees self-sacrifice as a love language. And it could be, if it wasn't because it's his main way to prove his love. And it could be, if it wasn't because it ends up hurting him every damn time and he doesn't even care. So it ends up being dangerous.
I hope you liked my lil analysis on this! I think I could expand the idea a bit better but this is just the basics about it and Sanji's personality <33

A few days went by and you were getting worse, the cloths that once fit you nicely hanged lose on your body, your skin was pale, lips slightly blue and your hair was getting thin form it falling out. You spent most of your time locked in your room sitting in the chair in the corner, you slept there most times as well even when Sanji and Zoro asked you to come to bed. Some times the door was locked and no matter how many times they called your name you wouldn't open it. You had the only key to the door now the others going missing. You no longer joined them for food, you ate after everyone but no matter how much you ate you were always skinny and weak. Zoro tried talking to you but you never answered him, you had a strange aura around you all the time and it made him sick. He didn't know what it was but put it down to you being depressed. Sanji tried making your favorite foods and sitting outside your shared bedroom talking to you through the door. You never answered, but he would hear movement inside and sometimes the door would be kicked.
Chopper was stressed out all the time trying to help you, he even got in contact with Law for help and as much as the reindeer didn't want to believe it, Law said some things that made sense, so he had to try it out, he had made you take sleeping pills in front of him but you never slept, so he did something he never thought he would do. He asked Sanji to make you some tea and then slipped a sleeping pill into the liquid, he watched you drink it and half an hour later you were asleep. It confirmed what Law had been telling him and it made him sad to the point where he went crying to Robin who was in the kitchen drinking tea. He felt like he failed as a doctor no matter how much Robin told him he was amazing. He finally calmed down when Sanji made him some tea and sat down with him, Zoro joined them later and the doctor couldn't help but cry into the mans chest apologizing over and over again. "Hay calm down... what are you sorry for?" Zoro sits down holding Chopper close as he finally starts to calm down again "I did something i shouldn't have, it's against everything i stand for but, i'm so tired and Law was right" Robin leans over the table and rubs the reindeer's back "It's ok just tell us, and we can fix it" her voice is soothing and calm as she talks making the doctor look back at Robin and Sanji.
"W-when you made the tea.. i put a sleeping pill in it and gave it to Y/N" he stutters a little through shaky breath "I asked them to take pills in front of me, but they never fell asleep.. Law said that-that they might be throwing it up so i had to see if he was right" Chopper sniffles rubbing his nose "And he was... their asleep which m-means he's r-right and if their doing it with the pills t-then" he stops himself and goes back to hugging Zoro who's teeth are clenched as he holds the doctor close. Sanji places his head in his hands realizing that even though you've been eating your most likely throwing it back up later, it angers him not because of the waist of food but because your starving yourself, it's no longer that you can't eat it's that you won't. "Do you think their trying to kill themselves?" Robin asks, it's a tough question to ask, but she knows it needs to be said. Zoro looks at her with a wide eye, he never thought you could do something like that, Sanji can't help but bit his tongue, he wants to yell at robin for asking, but he knows deep down she's in the right to ask. Chopper lifts his head form Zoro's chest and shrugs "I don't know... i have asked them about it, but they never answer"
Nami's heart broke at the conversation she was hearing, she had just finished her map and went to get a cup of tea when she heard them talking, she couldn't move from behind the door or get up the courage to walk into the kitchen. The hand on the door nob slipped off and down to her side, her eyes fixed on the wooden door in front of her. She had been avoiding you since she yelled at you but she didn't think you would consider hurting yourself. Her heart hurt for you, you were always so lively and kind but now you just look dead inside. She clenched her hands by her side and walked off to her room, she needed to get to the bottom of this no matter what. She wasn't about to let her friend suffer anymore.
Your back hurt like crazy, after drinking that tea you fell asleep and your ex woke you up every time you dozed off, he got angrier and angrier with you, his fingers digging into you back harder and harder each time. You were on the deck at the time trying to get some fresh air form the now stuffy bedroom, but he made you go back, you curled up in the chair near the door trying to stay awake. He hit you every time you fell asleep but you couldn't help it, you were just so tired. He used up most of his energy dealing with you his devil fruit powers needed time to recharge or something, so he left you locking the door to your bedroom behind you and going off somewhere secret to rest. You asked him why once, why didn't he just sleep in the bedroom, but he said he didn't trust you, you could try and kill him in his sleep. It was strange that he feared you a little but you were glad to have some alone time, away form his torture. Whatever was in that tea had warn off by now, you were tired but you knew that if he found you asleep again you'd be in a lot of trouble so you just sat there staring at the wall across form you.
The door handle moved a bit and a clicking sound made you look over at the door, when it opened you didn't expect to see anyone but your invisible ex. Your eyes widen when Nami walks in closing the door behind her, lock pick tools in hand and walking over to you. She seemed upset but you ignored it getting out of your chair and grabbing her arms, the sudden contact made the woman step back a little unsure of what you were doing "You need to go, you can't be here" you panicked, the door was open and there was no way of locking it now, he could be coming back any minute, and he'll surly kill your best friend if he sees her in here. You tried pushing her towards the door, but she was much stronger than you easily managing to stay put. "What? no i'm here to talk. Stop pushing me" Nami looks at you confused, she can see the fear in your face. "No you need to go" you whisper trying not to make too much noise. "Im not going anywhere until you tell me what's going on" she whispers back trying to get you to talk "Nami please... your making a big mistake, you need to" you stop yourself listening out for a moment before you start shaking "he's coming you need to hide" you whisper as she looks at you confused, it's too late for her to walk out, he'll see her so you gather all your strength and shoving her into the nearby wardrobe.
Nami goes to speak but you place your hand over her mouth "Please... just say quiet, i don't want him to hurt you" you whisper taking the lock pick tools form her hand and closing the wardrobe door before sitting back in your seat as the door opens. Nami decided to stay quiet as she hears the door open and slam shut, leaning over slightly she manages to see through the crack in the middle of the two doors, there's no one there but suddenly your thrown out of the chair and into the end of the bed hitting your back against it. You pant and cover your head the lock pick tools falling out your hands as you hit the bed frame. "Why was the door unlocked" your ex yells still invisible and picking up the lock picks from the floor "Where the hell did you get these from?" a hand grabs your hair and lifts your head up off the floor forcing you to sit up. "Im sorry... i just needed some fresh air" you lied, your fear covering up any hint that you weren't telling the truth. "Where did you get them from?" he yells into your face, you can feel his spit hit your cheek as he does "The side draw" you pant keeping your arms close to your chest. He groans and turns off his devil fruit powers showing himself before you, his face is red with anger and for a second you though maybe he was going to kill you.
He slams your head into the floor as your grab his hands trying to stop him. "Iv been so good to you. i let you sleep, i let you eat and this is how you repay me?" he growls letting go of your hair and standing up kicking you in the stomach as hard as he can. "Did you talk to anyone?" he asks watching you shake your head with tears in your eyes as you curl up into a ball trying to protect yourself. "This is taking too long and your getting on my nerves" he grits his teeth looking around the room before looking down at you "I think its time we up the anti. they won't let you go so were gonna make them let you go." he leans back down to you and pulls your face up to look at him, your tear stained face makes his smile, you want him dead so badly at this point but your not strong enough, he made you weak so you couldn't fight back. "Im going to be nice and give you a choice. You either kill someone on the crew .. let's say that doctor fellow.. or you" he sighs pulling out a pocket knife from behind him and opening it waving it in front of your face "You hurt yourself bad enough to where they have to let you go" he smiles knowing what your going to choose.
Your quick to answer even with a shaky voice "Me.. I'll do it" you go to take the knife only for him to pull it away from you "Smart birdy but... you won't do a good enough job" He stands up grabbing your bruised ankle and dragging you away from the bed, you struggle a little scared that he is going to kill you as he stabs the knife into your calf. You scream out in pain yelling at him to stop when Nami jumps out of the wardrobe staff in hand and hit your ex away from you as hard as she can. "Y/N" she yells helping you up as your ex recovers form being hit into the wall. Opening the door she drops your onto the floor, grabs the lock picks he dropped and slams the door closed using the lock picks to lock the door as he runs at it yelling at the two of you. "Nami?" you ask shaking from the pain in your leg as tears fall down your face, the knife still stuck in your leg. Nami shoves the lock picks into the key hole before kicking them getting them lodged so that he can't unlock the door with his key. "I'm sorry. i'm so sorry" Nami cry's leaning down next to you and bringing you in for a hug. "I should have acted sooner i'm so sorry" she cry's into your shoulder as you hold her back. The door is kicked and punched by your ex as he screams names at you and Nami.
Hearing all the noise from the kitchen Robin, Chopper, Sanji and Zoro run out heading to the sound of the noise only to see you bleeding on the ground with Nami holding you. "Y/n" Chopper yells running over to check on you seeing the knife in your leg and the cut on your forehead before hearing a male yell form inside your room. "What the hell?" Zoro runs over with Sanji and Robin looking at the door then to you "Don't open it" Nami yells at them trying to help you stand up but your too much of a mess to move. So much is going through your mind, you could hardly speak as you cried and clung onto Nami for deal life. "Your safe now... he can't hurt you" Nami whispers as Zoro bends down next to you carefully putting a hand on your back, you don't flinch this time, it doesn't hurt when he touches you so you lean closer, your head on his chest as he picks you up one arm around your back and the other under your legs while trying to be careful of the knife. "I'll keep an eye on the door" Robin smiles leaning against the wall nodding at them to leave.

When we talk about the zosan death pact, we mostly talk about sanji’s concern for the safety of the crew. That when he asked zoro to kill him if he started to lose himself, he’s worried about what he’d do to the crew when he’s not in his right mind.
But we rarely talk about the other implication. That sanji is also afraid for himself. That he doesn’t want to continue living as a mindless killing machine. That for him, freedom and agency and autonomy are more valuable than just living.
When he asks zoro to kill him he is also scared of turning into sth without agency. Even if germa sanji doesn’t hurt the crew, he’s not himself anymore. He’ll be sanji only in appearance (and maybe not even that if his hair turns black) but he’ll lose every little idiosyncrasy that makes him sanji.
Emotions are a pretty big thing with sanji. Without them he’ll be someone else. Would germa sanji still stick to his many principles like not wasting food and hurting women? Would he still be in awe of the All Blue? What if he finds All Blue and he just feels…nothing.
For Sanji, gazing at the All Blue and feeling nothing is a fate worse than death. And because of that, I am confident that Oda will never hurt and destroy his beloved character like that. Sanji will never lose himself, even if he comes dangerously close to it. He’ll step back. He’ll preserve himself and his emotions. And He’ll find the All Blue at the end of the series and we will witness the true depth of his beautiful emotions and cry with him.
